Photographing Professional Headshot Photos in Brooklyn for this individual's LinkedIn, personal blog, and social media platforms. We rented a private space at The Malin in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The Malin is a shared co-working space that rents out individual spaces on an hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly basis. I leveraged 3 different spaces / looks on this shoot all while photographing in the same room.
The following quick headshot session is for a long time non-profit client based in Manhattan. The subject photographed will be honored at their annual award dinner in September. The images I captured will not only be used in print and digital materials throughout the venue this September, but in marketing and advertising material leading up to the event and post event.

Last Friday, I met Ruthie at the NYC Transit Museum in Brooklyn to capture headshots which will be used in an upcoming alumni magazine feature. In Ruthie’s photos I wanted to show off key elements of the NYC subway system (stations, trains, signage) alongside Ruthie’s confident personality.
What’s so fun about non-studio headshots or “environmental portraits” is finding a suitable environment for your subject. New York City is a subject in its’ own right. Marrying the city with the person you are photographing, just like a real marriage takes some work.
I don’t think anything is more iconic than New York City’s historic Plaza Hotel during the Christmas season. The staff at the Plaza do an amazing job of decorating the lobby, which is open to the public. For Nick’s proposal, we worked with the hotel to close off an area just to the side of the Christmas trees.
