Cole proposed near The River Café with the waterfront and Lower Manhattan surrounding them. After hearing "yes," we stayed around The River Café and the waterfront for their engagement portraits, capturing a variety of beautiful backdrops without needing to venture farther into the park.

Planning a surprise proposal in New York City? If you're looking for a location that feels romantic, peaceful, and uniquely Central Park, uniquely that Upper East Side NYC vibe, the Model Boat Pond (location on Google Maps) is one of the most charming places to propose. Surrounded by lush mature trees, the classic Upper East Side architecture, and the iconic Central Park sailboats gliding across the water, it offers a timeless setting for an unforgettable engagement. Thursday early evening, Mitchell chose this location to ask his girlfriend the BIG QUESTION!

Capturing the Surprise Proposal

As a NYC proposal photographer, my goal is to document the moment naturally and discreetly. Mitchell's proposal was photographed candidly from a distance so the surprise remained genuine and uninterrupted. I focussed on the lines of the pond to bring you eye to the couple throughout the proposal. After the proposal, we explored several nearby locations for engagement portraits, including:
