Portraits at the NYC Transit Museum

If you’re trying to a make a movie, a television show, or a commercial in New York City with an MTA bus or Subway car, you’ll have to reach out to Ruthie. Ruthie is a SUNY Binghamton University alumni now in charge of MTA casting. Last Friday, I met Ruthie at the NYC Transit Museum in Brooklyn to capture headshots which will be used in an upcoming alumni magazine feature. In Ruthie’s photos I wanted to show off key elements of the NYC subway system (stations, trains, signage) alongside Ruthie’s confident personality.

Brilliant Leadership - Photographing a book signing

As a corporate event photographer my goals are always to capture the 5Ws of an event; Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Today’s assignment was out of NYC on Long Island at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club. I made sure to showcase not only the author, her family, and her guests, but the venue and it’s beautiful views / atmosphere. I spent ample time 1 on 1 with the author capturing posed photos of her holding her book, signing her book, and interacting with guests as they discussed the books different themes. Before guests arrived, I captured family photos both inside and out. My goal was to capture images the publisher and author could use in media, social media, and in other publications to promote the book.

Thomas's Surprise Pier 45 Manhattan Proposal

Pier 45 on Manhattan’s West side is just West of the quintessential West Village. It’s views are unique compared to the other NYC piers, as it’s slightly more North than Pier 25 (another favorite location), but it has no restaurants on it’s West End. This West Side Pier has a perfect unobstructed view facing South (World Trade Center) and North (Empire State Building and Hudson Yards).

Photographing a NYC Wedding Rehearsal Dinner

It's the night before your wedding and your families and closest friends are finally coming together before the big day. Besides being NYC’s most well known proposal photographers, we are also frequently asked by clients to capture their wedding rehearsal dinners as well. I love capturing the night before your wedding day as the most important people come together. As a former wedding photographer, I understand the importance of the moment and why having photographer there is so nice to have.
