Akram's Lower Manhattan Marriage Proposal

Congrats Akram and Alex! Akram chose 10am Saturday morning to propose to his girlfriend Alex. We spoke about several different locations and agreed upon a location with a view of the New York City skyline. Our options were Long Island City’s Gantry Plaza, Hoboken, and Pier 25 on Manhattan’s West Side. We chose Pier 25 simply because of its convenience and for its multiple views, World Trade Center looking downtown and the Empire State Building looking uptown.

City Hall Wedding - Katia + Joe

I love photographing simple weddings and a New York City Hall wedding is my definition of “simple wedding.” Katia and Joe made the jump on Friday August 23, 2019 in downtown Manhattan at City Hall. Post ceremony, we met for family photos and a private couples’ session in Lower Manhattan. Our shoot incorporated the hustle and bustle of the big city, and the contrasting calmness of it’s parks. This was definitely a nice break from the country club and catering hall weddings I often photograph.

Laura + Andrew's Brooklyn Wedding

Congratulations Laura and Andrew! Photographing your wedding day, your friends, and your families was amazing. Your wedding day is one of my favorites for so many different reasons. The main reason, I love Brooklyn. It’s where Monika used to live there. Brooklyn is where we spent the past several years exploring and discovering all the things (Prospect Park, the food, the brownstones…) that make it so great.

Brooklyn is for lovers. This brooklyn wedding photographer is included.

Laura and Andrew also love Brooklyn. It’s where their relationship also blossomed, it’s the place they both call home, and it’s where they will live together with Laura’s two boys.

When I first met Andrew and Laura they explained their wedding day was going to be super simple. They didn’t want a big production. They wanted a wedding photographer to capture the day as it happened. This was not going to be a 12 hour day with getting ready photos, bridesmaids and groomsmen galore, and a rigid schedule. They were right. It was super simple and relaxing (for everyone!).

this Quintessential brooklyn wedding had all of the right ingredients, all of which are made in brooklyn, ny.

The wedding was at the Brooklyn Society For Ethical Culture in Park Slope right across from Prospect Park. Andrew and Laura found the space just by walking by and they chose the venue because it’s an empty canvas. You can make it what you want. Meaning you have to bring in your own food, caterer / event planner, and music. Of course, they made it a very Brooklyn wedding and they made it very them.

There was an awesome Blue Grass band, Citigrass, playing the whole afternoon and evening. For cocktail hour and dinner there was Dinosaur Barbecue. And lastly, for dessert there was Brooklyn’s very own and tasty Ample Hills Creamery.
