NYC Corporate Headshot Photographer with a Mobile Portrait Studio

Professional Headshots at Your Office, Conference, or Off-Site Event

Everything about photographing a corporate headshot day in NYC makes sense to me. I get it.

From the early planning stages to the final retouched delivery, I love every part of the process. As a New York City corporate headshot photographer, I bring a fully equipped mobile portrait studio directly to your office, conference, or off-site event, making the experience seamless for your team and effortless for your company.

Whether your team needs updated LinkedIn profile photos, consistent headshots to match those currently on your website, or polished images for email signatures and org charts, I specialize in creating professional portraits that reflect your brand — without disrupting your workday.

Corporate Headshot Days, Designed for NYC Offices

A successful headshot day starts long before the first photo is taken. Every office, every space in New York City is so unique. My NYC headshot photography setup was originally developed while working as the full-time university photographer. Over time, I’ve refined it to meet the unique challenges of corporate photography in New York City. The goal has always been simple:

✔ Lightweight and portable
✔ Fast setup and breakdown
✔ Professional studio-quality results
✔ Designed for small conference rooms and limited space

Before the session I work closely with clients to:

  • Coordinate scheduling of the day and who is being photographed when

  • Identify the best location within your office or conference space

  • Ensure consistent lighting and vision across all portraits

  • Organization - Before anyone is photographed there is a sign-in sheet. The 7th person on the sign-in sheet is the 7th person photographed, and they are the 7th folder in the delivery drive. This makes for easier distribution of the photos afterwards, and ensures only that person sees their photos, not the whole company.

While I own large strobes and modifiers — beauty dishes, gridded softboxes, snoots, reflectors — and they create beautiful images, they’re often impractical in Manhattan offices. More often than not, a single conference room is reserved for the session, and I’m restricted by:

  • Ceilings are frequently low

  • Conference rooms are narrow

  • Space is limited, especially with furniture

  • Setup time is tight

Corporate Headshots in Manhattan: Mobile Headshot Station at a Team Offsite

When companies bring their teams together for an offsite meeting, it’s the perfect opportunity to gift everyone an updated professional headshot for both their individual LinkedIn profile and for the company bio page. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph 40 team members during their company offsite in New York City at the Crosby Street Hotel. The assignment came together within 24 hours of the session.

I worked quickly to secure a location that could hold 40 people with a space that was conducive for portraits. Being a NYC photographer, I’m very efficient and proficient in building a mobile headshot - portrait studio. For established fortune 500 companies and startups alike, consistent and professional corporate headshots are essential.

Bringing a Mobile Headshot Studio to Manhattan

Instead of sending employees across New York City to a photographers studio, I bring my studio directly to my clients. Inside this meeting venue, I set up a complete mobile professional headshot station, including:

  • Studio lighting designed for clean, natural results

  • Seamless backdrop options aligned with their brand / vision

  • Tethered shooting from my camera to a big screen monitor for real-time review

  • A streamlined workflow to photograph 40 individuals efficiently

  • Professionalism and friendliness to make everyone comfortable

My setup requires minimal space and is ready to go within 20-30min — ideal for me to come to you, and for when time is limited, and space is limited.

Professional NYC Headshots for Finance Executives & Summer Interns

Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph headshots for a leading New York City finance group, focusing on three very different but equally important—objectives.

First, I captured professional portraits of the senior executive team with a real NYC skyline as a backdrop—perfect for highlighting their connection to the city.

Second, I used a clean glass wall in office as a background, which would make photoshopping out the background for a professionally retouched background easier. These images are ideal for use in press releases, company bios, and formal corporate materials. Also, these photos can easily match headshots / portraits from prior sessions while creating uniformity.

Third, we turned the lens toward the firm’s summer interns—many of whom were getting their very first professional headshot. For these future finance leaders, this wasn’t just about taking a picture—it was about creating a strong first impression. I made sure everyone felt comfortable, confident, and prepared, offering light posing direction and tips to bring out their best expressions.

These headshots will serve them well beyond the internship program—appearing on LinkedIn profiles, email signatures, and even resumes, helping them stand out in a competitive job market.

Whether I’m photographing seasoned executives or those just beginning their careers, my goal is always the same: deliver high-quality, approachable, and polished headshots that tell a story of professionalism and confidence.

If your NYC company is looking to update your team’s headshots—or welcome new interns with professional portraits—let’s make it happen. From on-location shoots with iconic backdrops to customized studio-style images, I’ll ensure every member of your team looks their best.

Tips for posing headshot photos

Finding a headshot photographer can be tough and becoming comfortable in front of the camera can be even tougher. When photographing headshots (or “portraits”, call it what you want) I keep it casual, relaxed, and open. Meaning, there’s no awkward posing and no uncomfortable moments of silence with a big camera pointing at you. When taking your photo I like to ask you questions about yourself, and what it is you like to do. If you think about the fun and happy things, you’ll relax and forget your being photographed. If you feel good, you’re guaranteed to look good.

Jocelyn NYC Headshot - Binghamton University Alumni

A recent headshot session for longtime client Binghamton University of alumnus Jocelyn. The photos captured during this session will appear in the Fall 2021 issue of the university’s quarterly magazine.

After graduating Binghamton University in the Spring of 2020, Jocelyn enlisted in the Army. As a Long Island, NY resident and military personnel, Jocelyn was tasked with working at the Jacob Javitz Center on Manhattan’s West Side during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NYC Headshot Photography doesn’t have to be done on a plain background when your background is as great as NYC itself.

For this assignment, I wanted to highlight the location Jocelyn worked, New York, and her service. The school’s magazine sent me a brief bio about Jocelyn and high level overview of the written piece. As a headshot photographer, I like to incorporate elements of the written word in to my headshot photos. A plain white background although effective at times, can come off as sterile and uninviting.

Director of Emergency Operations Headshot Photo - NYC Headshot Photographer

Today’s assignment was to photograph professional headshots of New York City’s Director of Emergency Operations Center, Robert Cohen.

As a Binghamton University alumnus who has been working to keep NYC moving through the pandemic, SUNY Binghamton wanted professional headshots of Robert for their alumni publication. The scope of the assignment was to capture New York City, Robert, the importance of his job, and the times we live in all within as few photos as possible.

NYC PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS, Done quick.

As an important piece of the New York City Operations Department, Robert couldn’t be away from work long. This meant I had to work quickly.

I worked with Robert to organize a headshot session just blocks away from his office near the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. We worked quickly to photograph a variety of professional headshot photos with a few different backdrops, all within an hour.

Jonathan Heisler Photography captures professional headshots throughout NYC and on Long Island. We are flexible in both how, when, and where we schedule our headshot sessions. Whether it’s for a LinkedIn Profile Photo, a business contact page, a written piece about you (like this shoot) or something more informal; having a clean professional headshot is imperative for any working professional.

We’ll make sure your professional headshot suits you.
