How We Approach Every Corporate Event: From Panels to Galas

Corporate events come in all shapes and sizes — from focused panel discussions to elegant galas, fast-paced networking mixers to carefully branded step-and-repeat moments. But no matter the format, our approach remains rooted in the same set of principles we’ve refined over years of photographing New York’s most dynamic professional experiences: presence, storytelling, and intentional coverage that reflects both the energy of the moment and the goals behind the event.

Below, we break down how we work with four common corporate event formats, what we focus on at each, and why these approaches help organizations make the most of their visual storytelling.

Panel Discussions

Panel discussions are equal parts information and interaction — framed by speakers, enriched by audience engagement, and defined by transitions from wide scene-setting shots to the small, human moments in between. What we do well here is observe first, document second:

  • Capture wide shots that establish the stage, panelists, and environment

  • Zoom in on speaker expressions, gestures, and audience reactions

  • Photograph side conversations and breakout moments that reveal engagement and idea exchange

  • Integrate visuals for post-event marketing and internal communications that go beyond the formal program

With this mix of big picture and detail, images become assets that can support press coverage, reports, social content, and future event promotion.

You can see an example of this approach in a recent panel discussion we photographed in New York.

Galas and Fundraisers

Galas and fundraisers have a unique rhythm all their own — guests arrive, energy builds, speeches or presentations take place, and connections form throughout the night. Our work here focuses on balance:

  • Documenting arrival and registration moments as the first impression

  • Capturing key moments on stage — honorees, speeches, awards

  • Photographing candid interactions between guests during cocktail hours

  • Shooting details that matter — décor, branded elements, ambiance

  • Delivering a gallery that’s ready for press, newsletters, and donor relations with a fast turnaround

During a recent gala we covered, we blended wide architectural views with candid interactions and key ceremony moments — giving the event a visual narrative from start to finish.

Here’s an example of how we approach coverage for a formal gala.

Networking Events

Networking events are all about connection, and our approach reflects that. Instead of waiting for staged looks, we prioritize lived moments:

  • Anticipate authentic interactions — two people laughing, introductions in mid-motion, meaningful handshakes

  • Use movement and architecture to frame conversations in environments like hotel lounges or restaurant spaces

  • Photograph both individual headshots and group interactions that show the event’s energy

  • Keep coverage flexible — not everyone connects on schedule, but everyone has a story worth documenting

These events tend to generate some of the most natural imagery: the connections and conversations reveal more about an organization’s culture than the formal agenda ever could.

This networking event is a good example of how we focus on candid interaction and movement.

Step and Repeats

The step and repeat is one of the few moments in a corporate event that’s both intentional and public friendly. While it’s straightforward in setup, doing it well means keeping it dynamic and usable across platforms:

  • Position lighting for even, flattering coverage that avoids harsh shadows

  • Keep transitions quick so guests stay comfortable in a live setting

  • Capture both posed portraits and in-the-moment reactions

  • Deliver images that are press-ready, brand-ready, and social-ready

Rather than simply “checking the box,” our step and repeat coverage aims to create images that reinforce brand identity — polished, consistent, and unmistakably linked to the event experience.

This event offers a clear example of how we photograph step and repeat moments in a live setting.

What Ties It All Together

Across panels, galas, mixers, and step and repeats, a few constants drive our approach:

  • Preparation and presence — anticipating moments before they happen

  • Storytelling coverage — mixing candid moments with key staged shots

  • Fast turnaround and usability — delivering galleries that work immediately for press, social, and internal use

  • Adaptability to the venue and energy — whether it’s a rooftop dinner, a conference room, or a lobby reception

In every setting, our goal is the same: to capture not just what happened, but how it felt. The laughter, the tension, the applause, the quiet moments between conversations — that’s the story companies use again and again long after the event has ended.

Capturing the 2025 We Are All Human Foundation Gala at Cipriani Wall Street

NYC Corporate Event Photography | Multi-Camera Remote Coverage = The Best Gala Photos

In October, the We Are All Human Foundation gathered in New York City for its 2025 Annual Gala—an inspiring celebration of global unity, leadership, and impact. Hosted at Cipriani Wall Street, the event brought together leaders from business, government, and philanthropy at the conclusion of a week-long conference held across New York City celebrating Hispanic Leadership.

And this year, our team did something most corporate event photographers do at a gala: We positioned multiple remote-mounted cameras throughout the venue. This allowed us to captured wide shots and zoomed in close ups from unique positions that would be difficult and time consuming to access throughout the night. The result? Dynamic, coverage from every angle without disrupting the flow of the evening or missing key moments (I.e. Awards being given out, the live auction, guests reactions). Besides candids and wide photos from above, we gathered key individuals for group photos and watched for the moments that defined the evening by being present amongst attendees on the ground.

The Key gala moments we captured

When working with new clients and existing clients we always go in to an event with a “shot list”. These are the key moments and people we know the client wants captured. From there, we learn who is who using LinkedIn and throughout the night we are checking each item off of our list.

  • Inspiring speeches from global leaders

  • A live auction led by the exceptional auctioneer team at J. Towers Perkins

  • High-energy Cirque du Soleil performances honoring their CEO

  • Award presentations and honoree moments

  • Elegant cocktail receptions & networking

  • Branded press and media activations

  • Candid emotional reactions and guest interactions

  • The step and repeat

From the emotional standing ovations to the high-flying acrobatics overhead, this gala was a fusion of elegance, excitement, and purpose—and our imagery reflects that. As a NYC corporate event photographer, I’m passionate about capturing elevated moments for global brands, nonprofits, and forward-thinking organizations—especially when we can combine creativity and technology to deliver exceptional coverage.

If you’re planning a NYC gala, corporate summit, awards ceremony, or multi-day conference, let’s talk about how we can bring your event to life—on camera and beyond.

Fundraiser at Tribeca 360° During UN General Assembly | New York Corporate Event Photography

As an NYC Corporate Event Photographer, I get to capture events of all different types, sizes, and purposes. Annual events like the Upwardly Global “Brighter Futures Together” Gala 2025, held at Tribeca 360° in New York City is an event I photograph every year. Seeing familiar faces is a warm feeling, but hearing the different stories of the night and experiencing each years’ different format is the real creative challenge, which I love. The day spanned from early gatherings through evening festivities, offering a a spectrum of light, emotion, and narrative to document.

Throughout the event, my team and I (2 photographers + myself) tracked every moment—from arrival with registration, the step and repeat, cocktail hour, and a mini- networking session to the elegant gala program full of awards, performances, and an a auction. Together, we worked to capture it all. The oscillation between spontaneous interactions and staged moments created a dynamic visual story—guests in conversation, laughter between speakers, as well as the energy of the room shifting as day became night.

Fast turnaround is always my promise. Within a short timeframe, clients received a curated gallery ideal for press, social media, internal communications, and future promotions. Photographing the Annual Hispanic Star Gala at Cipriani Wall Street | NYC Event Photography

The Hispanic Star Gala, presented by We Are All Human, is a premier event celebrating the achievements and contributions of the Hispanic community. Held at the iconic Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, this gala brings together leaders, influencers, and advocates for an unforgettable evening.

In December 2024, I had the privilege of capturing this prestigious event for the second consecutive year. Unlike the previous year, where a team of three photographers was deployed, this time I was entrusted with the responsibility of documenting the entire event solo. The challenge was to encapsulate the dynamic atmosphere, the elegance, and the intimate moments that define the Hispanic Star Gala.

Key Moments Captured:

  • Speeches and Award Presentations: These moments were among the most intimate and inspiring of the night. Capturing the emotion of the speakers and honorees was essential, as these individuals are often leaders and role models within the Hispanic community.

  • Guest Interactions and Networking: The gala isn't just about speeches and awards; it's also about connection and collaboration. Documenting candid moments where guests engage with one another showcases the spirit of the event.

  • Performances and Entertainment: Entertainment played a key role in the evening's festivities. Photographing the performers—whether musicians, dancers, or speakers—added an extra layer of dynamism to the photos.

  • Group Shots and Crowds: The gala brought together a diverse range of individuals. Capturing group shots of attendees in various settings, such as seated at tables, networking, or enjoying performances, added context and told a fuller story.

Utilizing two cameras, I was able to seamlessly transition between capturing close-up shots that highlighted the emotion and expressions of the guests and wide-angle shots that showcased the grandeur and scale of the event. This approach ensured a comprehensive visual narrative that encapsulated the essence of the evening.
