Why? Because a ferry is the only way to get to Governors Island and that keeps people away. The views on the island are well worth a quick ferry ride, especially if this is where you are going to propose.

Everyone knows Central Park is the most popular place in all of New York City to propose. While we have our “Best place in Central Park to Propose” blog highlighting all of our favorite spots and all of their ins/outs, we are always finding new spots thanks to the creativity of our clients. This spot in Central Park’s ramble is one of those new spots we just love. We’re going to keep it off of our Best Places list, so it stays private.

Not many people, New Yorkers included, know about this section of the park. Although the iconic landmarks like Bethesda Fountain, Bow Bridge, the model boat sailing pond, and the mall take the lime light, the Conservatory Garden is just as special. While it’s just a little bit further out of the way, it does keep the crowds away and it makes your proposal moment so much more special.
I have photographed all over Central Park countless times, but the Conservatory Garden only a few dozen times. I love discovering this part of Central Park every time I come up to 105 street.

Roosevelt Island is so close to Manhattan and yet it couldn’t be any more different than the hustling-bustling city. When you take the cable car ride (or subway) to Roosevelt Island you enter another world. The island offers amazing views of Manhattan and Long Island City every which way you look. It also offers a view with few tourists, vendors, and trash unlike so many other parts of NYC.

Finding a truly unique location for your proposal can be difficult in the city that has it all, and has 9 million people around you. Nothing is more grand, more private, more intimate, and more unforgettably unique / special than proposing on a private sailboat / yacht at sunset with the New York City skyline immediately behind you.
