Having spent the entire last year of grad school online, Kayla wanted a graduation photoshoot that would show offer her accomplishment and school spirit!

Kayla and I worked around her busy school schedule and New York City’s unpredictable spring showers to plan a grad photo shoot at the beautiful campus of her soon-to-be alma mater, Columbia University. Kayla loved how her photos came out evening leaving us a review: “I am truly happy with how my graduation photos, thanks for helping me capture this moment!”

Roanoke Headshot Photographer

Since moving to Roanoke, Virginia, I haven’t photographed all that much. Last Sunday, I changed that “streak” with my first headshot session and I quickly became a “Roanoke Professional Photographer”.

Kuei, photographed above, is our neighbor and a professional software developer. Monika told her I photograph professionally in New York and she asked if I’d be interested in taking her photo. She wanted a headshot photo she could use in her email signature, contact card, and LinkedIn.

So, I setup my mobile headshot studio right in her garage and within a couple of minutes I was ready to go. We tried a few different looks and I always asked Kuei for her feedback; glasses, no glasses, jacket, and no jacket. After the backdrop photos we walked 15feet behind me to the outdoors.

For our outdoor headshot photos, I brought one light outside with a small diffuser. I used the sun as a hair light and the woods as a background. The headshots above are lightly edited and retouched removing hair fly aways and oil spots.

Nassau County Headshot Photographer - Business Headshot

As a headshot photographer based out of Long Island and serving New York City I receive a lot of requests for “something different than the standard backdrop”. Jonathan reached out to me for his new LinkedIn photo saying he wanted something different, and he liked my work.

So, we met up early one Saturday morning in July, before it got too hot, in Sea Cliff, NY. I knew Sea Cliff could provide us options throughout our headshot photography session. Sea Cliff would provide us green backgrounds, long streets to bring in your eye to the subject, and clean architecture to act as another element of interests.

*In the final photos, I took out the van behind Jonathan’s right shoulder.

NYC Professional Headshot Photographer

The “Best NYC Headshot Photographer” is what I would Google if I was looking for a new headshot photo. Jonathan Heisler Photography NYC is becoming one of the go to headshot photographers in New York City. Our headshots or “portrait photos” are not just the standard photo against a backdrop. My style headshot photo captures environment and tells the larger story of who you and what you do.

Finding a linkedin profile photo photographer or headshot photographer you like is tricky. Work with a photograph that will make you feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Many of portrait photos are often candid moments in between laughter and conversation. A good portrait photographer, not matter in NYC or elsewhere, will take you becoming comfortable in front of the camera is the hardest part of capturing a good headshot.

NYC Lawyer Test Shoot

A recent test shoot with a NYC Workplace Discrimination lawyer in the Financial District. We chose to photograph at the Oculus for it’s sharp lines and pure clean white look. Photographing at 4pm in September gave us amazing light and a lot of different directions to photograph.

Patrick Lorio - Golf Course Superintendents Association of America

Long Island Headshot Photographers

When I met Patrick, the Head Manager of Turf at the Engineers Country Club, I asked him to show me his favorite spots on the course. In his headshot photos I wanted to capture what makes the course, the grounds, and it’s facilities unique. So, we took two golf carts out and drove around for a bit. As we drove, Patrick proved to be super informative and passionate about his role at the Roslyn Harbor, NY country club and about Long Island’s unique geography.

The best headshot photo is one that shows you as you. This photo will work as your LinkedIn photo, email signature photo, and as an all around identity.

“From the top of the 15th hole you can see the NYC skyline faintly in the distance. At night when it’s clearer the whole city looks amazing from up here”, he explained. Patrick also told me just how unique Long Island’s North Shore golf courses are in comparison to the rest of the country. Long Island courses naturally feature dramatic hills, terrific soil conditions, and shady tall trees. In comparison, when building a golf course elsewhere hills have to be made, trees have to be planted, and soil has to be developed.

So, how did the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America find this Long Island photographer? I’m certainly no expert of “country club club turf management”. The answer is simple, S.E.O. I’ve been working on pushing relevant and geotagged content to blogs and pages on my website.
