Proposal

An Afternoon Terrace Proposal at the Ritz-Carlton

Jacob planned his proposal for a bright, crisp afternoon on the terrace of the Ritz-Carlton — a location that offers uninterrupted views of Lower Manhattan. And yes, he received just that, a bright, crisp New York City afternoon with the World Trade rising in the background.

The terrace, which is normally closed for the season provided clean bright light. The combination of the buildings clean glass facade and the skyline views created a perfect backdrop for this Friday afternoon fall surprise proposal.

Planning and Capturing the Moment

The goal for this proposal was to highlight Manhattan from multiple perspectives, moving from the dramatic views of Lower Manhattan looking South to iconic Midtown landmarks looking North. After capturing the proposal on the South terrace, we swapped to the North side for an unrivaled view of the Empire State Building.

Why is the Ritz-Carlton Terrace Is a Stunning Midtown manhattan Proposal Location?

A Morning Fall Proposal at Belvedere Castle

Belvedere Castle is one of Central Park’s most picturesque spots, especially in the fall. The trees turn warm shades of orange, gold, and red, and the castle’s stone architecture rises above the landscape like something out of a storybook. On a crisp fall morning, with soft light settling over the park, Edward proposed.

Morning in Central Park offers a quiet, gentle atmosphere, and this moment was no exception. With the castle behind them and the park slowly waking up around them, the scene came together perfectly.

Planning and Capturing the Moment

Edward timed his proposal for early morning to take advantage of the soft, flattering light and minimal crowds. The calmness of the castle area allowed the moment to unfold naturally and privately.

After the proposal, we explored the surrounding paths and viewpoints for portraits. The combination of fall foliage, castle stonework, and morning reflections created a beautiful variety of backdrops — from close, intimate shots to wide landscape frames that captured all the color of the season.

Why Belvedere Castle Is a Perfect NYC Proposal Location

Belvedere Castle blends romance, architecture, and nature in a way few places in Central Park can. Mornings here feel especially magical, with open space and dramatic views of both the castle and the fall canopy.

For couples wanting a proposal location that feels iconic yet peaceful, Belvedere Castle offers a unique backdrop that photographs beautifully in any season — but especially in autumn.

A Morning Proposal on the Met Stairs

First thing Friday morning in early November, Noah proposed on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The MET). The city was still waking up, and the MET’s were not crowded as compared to the late afternoon. The lighting was that perfect soft morning light, and the air was crisp. It was the perfect place and moment for Noah to propose.

After the proposal, we walked in to Central Park for a few posed moments visiting some of my favorite morning spots; the Model Boat Pond and the Glade Arch. Foliage in the city was peak and it was not going to last very long.

Planning and Capturing the Surprise

Noah and I timed the proposal for early morning to take advantage of there being no crowds and and the soft, quiet light. Shooting on the museum stairs created a classic, almost cinematic backdrop that was iconic yet intimate. A quiet moment was what we requested

Matt proposed in a private area near the waterfront path, surrounded by views of the city skyline and New Jersey across the river. The early evening light brought everything to life — warm tones, clear reflections, and that quiet calm you only find before the city goes to sleep.

Planning and Capturing the Surprise

This proposal was planned for sunset to take advantage of the soft, golden light and peaceful atmosphere of Battery Park City. The timing couldn’t have been better — the light was gentle, the air cool, and the river perfectly still.

An Afternoon Proposal at the Model Boat Pond

Early November evenings in Central Park have their own kind of quiet magic. The fall colors are still lingering, the air is crisp, and the park feels calm before the city fully wakes up. At the Model Boat Pond, the trees around the water were brushed in shades of gold and orange.

Romain proposed just as the morning light began to disappear through the clouds. With few people around, the moment felt private and peaceful — almost like they had the park to themselves. The evening light was gentle but moody, so we used a touch of flash to bring out the warm tones and highlight the couple against the soft gray sky.

Planning and Capturing the Surprise

This proposal was all about timing. We planned for an early afternoon to catch that serene, empty park atmosphere that’s rare in Central Park. The light was subdued — a bit overcast and dreamy — but that only added to the intimate, cinematic feel of the photos.

Why Choose the Model Boat Pond for a Central Park Proposal

The Model Boat Pond is one of Central Park’s most peaceful and picturesque locations, offering wide views, reflective water, and beautiful seasonal color. In the afternoon, it feels like a private retreat in the middle of the city — perfect for couples looking for a quiet, natural setting.

In late fall, the area is especially beautiful. The remaining leaves add just the right amount of color, and the soft evening light gives every photo a calm, romantic tone. Whether it’s sunny or slightly overcast, the Model Boat Pond provides a timeless New York backdrop that never disappoints.
