Ingmar Bar Mitzvah | Port Washington, NY Photographer

Thank you, Ingmar, for having us photograph your Bar Mitzvah!

Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs have become larger-than-life parties. However, for Ingmar, family was all he wanted. As a Long Island Bar Mitzvah photographer, we have photographed some pretty over-the-top celebrations. No matter the size of the mitzvah, our photos focus on family, friends, and capturing the celebration.

Long Island, NY Bar Mitzvah Photographers with experience

As a Jewish photographer who is a bar mitzvah, I know what the key elements of a Bar Mitzvah day are from firsthand experience. I know how hard the bat or bar mitzvah man/woman has worked to get to that point, and how big a moment it is in their life.

Photographing the details, the key moments (if allowed), the celebration, and most importantly family is what makes Jonathan Heisler Photograph the best bar mitzvah / bat mitzvah photographers.

Location: Port Washington Jewish Center and the Port Washington Yacht Club

Vendor: Asher Laub on electric violin

Elyse's NYC Baptism | Upper East Side NY Baptism Photographer

As a baptism photographer, it is my job to photograph and document the day as it unfolds for a - the prep, the clothing, the traditions, and the various elements of the day. Whether on Long Island, NY or in NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens), every baptism is unique, just as every family is unique. Jonathan Heisler Photography, photographs the moments that make your family unique.

Baptism Photographers are skilled newborn and family photographers

Photographing Elyse’s baptism started with photographing her getting ready. Her dress, her shoes, and her new cross were all carefully laid out. I learned of the families traditions and made sure to capture them throughout the day. I took special note of the mother’s love and gentle touch.

Photographing a NYC or Long Island Baptism

When we arrived to the church I made sure to learn of the house rules:

  • Flash or no flash?

  • Can I walk around or do I need stay in one place?

  • Is the photographer and family allowed to stay after the ceremony for photos?

The Gateway School Spring Gala 2019

The Gateway School’s signature fundraising and community event of the year took place on Thursday, May 2nd at the Mandarin Oriental right here in New York City. The program included a silent and live auction, and a musical performance by world renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. Mr. Perlman performance several pieces with Gateway School students.

Photographing events like this gala always provide interesting challenges (lighting, when I can and not photograph), subjects, and angles. Event photography keeps me on my toes! I wanted to capture a great shot of the room with Columbus Circle and Central Park in the background before it became too dark outside. Unfortunately, the formal event did not start until after dark. Luckily, I was able to provide the client several photos of guests taking photos of and with the view. I even included a slow exposure shot of Columbus Circle at night and a day time to night time time lapse.

NYU Bronfman Center - New Torah

On April 11, 2019 the NYU Bronfman Center Hillel finished their commissioned torah alongside the Downtown Synagogue. Members of their community gathered at the Strand bookstore several blocks away from the Bronfman Center to write the last few words in their torah. Once complete students paraded the torah over to its new home where they celebrated.
