John's and Mary's Lincoln Center Proposal | Secret NYC Proposal Photographer

John and Mary's Lincoln Center Proposal was a quintessential New York City proposal. When you combine a great couple and an iconic venue, you’re going to capture amazing photos. It’s a recipe for success. Photographing moments like this is why I love photographing in NYC.

How we planned to photograph John’s Lincoln Center Marriage Proposal

John reached out several weeks before his proposal with a plan. His plan was to take Mary to see a show at Lincoln Center, on Manhattan’s West Side. Then, on the way to the entrance of Lincoln Center he’d stop in front of the fountains and ask her to marry him. Next, like all proposals we photograph, the second biggest question at hand remained, “what if rains?”.

The weather looked good all week and then the morning of John’s proposal rain entered the forecast. However, the forecast did not just call for rain throughout the day or just in the evening. The rain was scheduled for precisely 1 hour before and 1 hour after John’s proposal, with the chance of light rain during.

What if it rains during my marriage proposal?

Our plan was to proceed anyways, and if it was raining they’d either walk with an umbrella or John would propose under the building’s overhang, safe from the rain. In the end, the rain stopped for a perfect 30 minutes. Enough time for John to propose to Mary, and for us to capture several post proposal, amazingly beautiful posed photos of New York City’s newest engaged couple.

Sachet and Lina's Lincoln Center Proposal

Finding the Perfect Proposal Spot During COVID-19 - It’s complicated.

Even with restrictions in New York City slowly easing up, it can still be difficult to find a great location to propose. With this in mind, both Jonathan and I work personally with every one of our clients to find the perfect location to propose and have the moment photographed by a professional secret proposal photographer. Being New York City proposal photographers, we have extensive knowledge of all areas of NYC, and can help you find / think about a spot that is meaningful. Photographing the moment is a lot of fun, but so too is planning the moment.

A True Lincoln Center Performance

A few weeks ago we helped Sachet plan his surprise proposal to his long-time girlfriend Lina. After looking into various locations, we found most had limitations due to COVID. We decided Lincoln Center would serve as the perfect backdrop for their surprise proposal and for their post-proposal photos. Sachet and I planned for a near sunset proposal in the square with the iconic Lincoln Center Theater in the background.

The day came, Sachet rocked it. Lina said yes!
