Everyone says there are a perfect 8-10 weeks in New York City every year. The best of those weeks are late September to late October when the leaves start to change, the warm (not hot) weather is still lingering, the days are still long, and the tourists are still home before the holiday season. This sweet spot, makes NYC and its countless attractions the place to be and the place to make memories.

Every time Bridget and Michael visit Manhattan Central Park is on their list of places to visit. They never visit Central Park with any formal plans, but just to walk and take in the sights. However for today’s visit, Michael had something special planned.

Geoff's Central Park Proposal | NYC Proposal Photographer

Just past the Bow Bridge is the best place to propose in Central Park, NY.

Photographing proposals in Central Park is such a contrast from our typical hustle and bustle proposals throughout NYC; rooftops, venues, private apartments, hotels, and restaurants. Hidden just past the famous Bow Bridge is a spot down a short path. Often, tourists and city dwellers alike will stop on the main path to take in the view of the Dakota, but they oddly enough don’t walk the extra 50 feet down the path. What I like about photographing proposals here is how private, intimate, and beautiful it is.

Judson's Morning Proposal in Central Park NYC

Proposing in Central Park means finding somewhere private and not generic. For Judson and Taylor’s proposal photos I wanted to capture parts of the New York City skyline behind them, so there would be some context in their photos. Ladies Pavillion on the West Side is a fantastic place to propose and have your moment photographed by a professional NYC photographer.

The best place to propose in New York City’s Central Park is …

The best place to propose in Central Park on the West Side is Ladies Pavilion. It’s only a short trip in to the park and it shouldn’t take much convincing for you to get them to the spot. We really like photographing proposal at Ladies Pavillion for the following reasons:

• You’ll have bits of the Manhattan skyline as the backdrop to your big moment.

• You’re surrounded by water, so there won’t be people behind you in your photos.

• It’s not terribly crowded because it’s just off the beaten path.
