There’s something undeniably special about springtime in New York City, and no location captures that magic quite like Central Park. With the cherry blossoms in full bloom, the early morning light casting a golden glow, and the city just beginning to stir, it's the perfect backdrop for a once-in-a-lifetime moment: a surprise marriage proposal.

For Jeff’s proposal we purposefully chose the Model Boat Sailing Pond (location here) for the cherry blossoms nearby, great morning light, and quieter setting vs Bethesda Fountain or other iconic locations throughout the park.

A Romantic Rainy Day Proposal at Central Park Conservatory Garden During Peak Spring Blooms - When it comes to planning the perfect New York City proposal, timing and location are everything—and sometimes, so is the weather. For Mike, none of that mattered more than one thing: asking the love of his life to marry him. On the day of Mike’s planned proposal, the sky opened up and the rain started falling. Many might have postponed. Mike didn’t flinch.

I have photographed inn Central Park countless times, but the Conservatory Garden only a few times. I love discovering this part of Central Park every time I come up to 105 street. Not only is it picturesque and charming, but it also has some unique elements that made for the prettiest backdrops while we walked around, got to know each other, and created beautiful images for these two, and their pup.
