Nothing is more grand, more private, more intimate, and more unforgettably unique / special than proposing on a private sailboat / yacht at sunset with the New York City skyline immediately behind you. Ibrahim’s proposal one evening after work this past July was special.

Thomas's Surprise Pier 45 Manhattan Proposal

Pier 45 on Manhattan’s West side is just West of the quintessential West Village. It’s views are unique compared to the other NYC piers, as it’s slightly more North than Pier 25 (another favorite location), but it has no restaurants on it’s West End. This West Side Pier has a perfect unobstructed view facing South (World Trade Center) and North (Empire State Building and Hudson Yards).

Steven's Model Boat Sailing Pond Proposal

What’s so unique about the Model Boat pond in Central Park is how intimate and quiet this not so hidden NYC gem is. While the tourists flock to Bethesda Fountain, the Bow Bridge, and the Gapstow Bridge from the South, the Model Boat Pond not so much. Located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side (72nd street) this Central Park location is one of my favorite places to capture a surprise marriage proposal.

Jared's Surprise Proposal at Pebble Bar

At the corner of Sixth Avenue and 49th Street, a slate-gray, four-story brick townhouse is nestled among towering buildings, like a pebble surrounded by boulders. Constructed in the 1870s, the house has witnessed more than 150 years of New York City history. A bar, in a variety of forms, has occupied the ground floor for nearly as long. And, at the beginning of February 2020, a new spot, Pebble Bar, continued the tradition and started a new tradition for Jared and Hannah.

Justin's Lunchtime Proposal in Central Park's Ramble

Everyone knows Central Park is the most popular place in all of New York City to propose. While we have our “Best place in Central Park to Propose” blog highlighting all of our favorite spots and all of their ins/outs, we are always finding new spots thank to creativity of our clients. What’s makes the New York Public Library (NYPL) in Bryant Park so cool, iconic, and picturesque is the soft light within the building and it’s beautiful archways. Even though Tanner chose a beautiful sunny day for his secret proposal, the library and Bryant Park offered a picture perfect NYC experience.
