Recent architecture and interior photography assignment of a just completed home in Queens, NY. This project was documented and stylized for long time client, Kevin Wolfe Architecture. Most of the the homes I photograph for Kevin are located in the historical part of Douglaston Manor. This home, while not in the historic district, still holds the same traditional, simple, and always well thought out design Kevin is known for.
I love photographing individual parts of a home and capturing each space’s mood. On this assignment, the focus of the home was the kitchen. The homeowner’s son is a professional chef and when he comes back to his mom’s home in Queens, entertaining and spending time together always occurs in the kitchen.
Prior our photoshoot, I removed some clutter off of the counter tops and I cleaned the surfaces. I staged a few simple props like the flowers and lemons to add both color and depth. The yellow of the lemons and the flowers multi-colors brought a subtle touch to this otherwise white kitchen.
At the end of our shoot, Harley, the homeowners dog was eager to jump in. He 100% brought some life to this kitchen.
