NYC City Hall Photographer
Planning a New York City Hall wedding or elopement? As an experienced NYC City Hall wedding photographer, I photograph intimate ceremonies at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau and the surrounding streets of Lower Manhattan. With more than 15 years of experience photographing weddings across New York City, my approach is relaxed and natural—capturing the genuine moments of your ceremony as well as timeless portraits around City Hall, the Municipal Building, and nearby locations.

City Hall ceremonies are short but incredibly meaningful. Having a professional photographer ensures the moment is documented naturally—from the anticipation before your appointment to the moment you walk out married. After the ceremony, we can explore the surrounding architecture of Lower Manhattan for relaxed portraits that celebrate both your relationship and the city where your marriage begins.

After the ceremony we often take portraits around:
The Manhattan Municipal Building
City Hall Park
Brooklyn Bridge entrance
Foley Square
Tribeca streets

Can a photographer attend our NYC City Hall ceremony?
Yes. Photographers are allowed inside the NYC Marriage Bureau during the ceremony. However, the photographer counts toward the guest limit, which is currently four guests.
How long does a NYC City Hall wedding ceremony take?
The ceremony itself is very quick—usually about one to two minutes. Couples typically spend 30–60 minutes inside the NYC Marriage Bureau, depending on the line that day. Many couples choose 90 minutes or more of coverage so we can capture the ceremony, candid moments before and after, and relaxed portraits around City Hall and nearby locations like the Municipal Building, Foley Square, or the Brooklyn Bridge.
How far in advance should we book a NYC City Hall wedding photographer?
Many couples book their NYC City Hall wedding photographer anywhere from a few weeks to several months in advance, especially for popular dates in spring and fall. Because City Hall weddings are often planned quickly, I also accommodate last-minute elopements whenever my schedule allows.
If you’re planning a proposal before your City Hall wedding, you can also view my NYC proposal photography work here.
My City Hall wedding and elopement sessions include photographs with family and friends immediately after the ceremony, followed by a relaxed portrait session with the newly married couple around City Hall and nearby streets.
