Bayville, NY in the fall is what Long Island is all about, as the town deviates from the typical "snotty" upscale character many North Shore towns have become. It's an evolved 1950's summer cottage town with an active oyster and clam business. The town is nestled between Oyster Bay, Lattingtown, and Locust Valley. It's always a pleasure to visit Bayville for drinks, dinner, biking, driving, or just walking around.

Oh Starry Night
Located in Southold, New York, facing the Peconic Bay and Shelter Island, the Custer Institute is Long Island's oldest public observatory (est.1927). Saturday night a friend and I drove out to the Custer Institute to star gaze. It's worth the trip.
