Interior Design and Architecture Photography
When designers, architects, and developers want their work photographed they look for a dependable and consistent photographer. Not just any photographer, they look for an architecture and interior photographer capable of documenting mood, personality, and a story.
Jonathan Heisler Photography photographs interior design and architecture throughout New York City, Long Island, and the surrounding areas. As a photographer, it is my job to spend a few extra moments looking at the details; light, placement, and intent.

What it means to be an architecture and Interior photographer
Maintaining the integrity of the architect and interior designer in each photograph is my goal. My job is to ensure the space looks inviting. Sometimes existing accessories translate well through the lens and other times they do not; less is more. More often than not, the shot needs to be “staged.” A stack of books on the table need to be moved to a different corner or the pillows on the sofa need to go to the chair. Whatever it might be, I preserve the overall feel of the space, while making sure what needs to be highlighted is highlighted.
Architectural and interior design photography differs from real estate photography.
Real estate photographers normally use wide angle or ultra wide-angle lenses to photograph the whole space in as few images as possible. Every image has to tell a big, broad story. In doing so, these photographs distort the dimensions of the space, making rooms and features look larger than reality. Photographers call this “distortion”. Details are lost and so is your connection to the space.
Jonathan’s interior and architecture photos capture vignettes, sharing parts of a story, as well the big picture with immense detail.
