Manhattan's Newest Food Hall | Professional NYC Corporate Event Photographer

Photographing corporate events is an exciting experience for any NYC Event Photographer, no matter the occasion!

For tonight’s event, we photographed the soft opening of a new food hall for Boston Properties and their Marketing agency partner Bullfrog + BAUM. Our goals were to highlight the space, the vendors, and the guest’s reactions. The new food hall in located on Manhattan’s East side on 51st and Lexington. The space will be open to both the public and the thousands of employees working inside of the newly renovated building.

As Event Photographers it is our goal to photograph the 5 Ws: Who, What, When, Where, and Why of an event.

The 5 W’s, as I was taught in junior high school english, simply ask “What’s the point”. For an event photographer I need to answer the Who, What, When, Where, and Why the event occurred in each of my photos singularly and as a group. It is up to the client, the person hiring me, to decide how they will use our photos to tell a story or multiple stories.

  • Who attended the event?

  • Where was the event?

  • Why was this event important?

  • What was the event about?

  • When did the event occur? (Evening, Day, Fall, Summer)

Hiring a Professional Event Photographer to photograph your NYC event is a crucial part of your marketing, advertising, recruiting, and social media strategy.

I have been a New York City event and conferences photographer for over fifteen years, working with businesses and clients of all types. Seeing the diverse ways my photos are used is always exciting. My images are most often used to recruit talent, to sell products and services, advertise a reoccurring event, or just to reminisce the good times.

Disney Night Before Christmas NYC Activation Event

Saturday we were hired to photograph Disney’s celebration of “Christmas in July” featuring the Night Before Christmas. The event was an activation with merchandise, characters, live music, and non-alcoholic drinks. As NYC Event Photographers we photograph a wide array of events from store openings and activations promoting brand awareness to more formal conferences and galas/fundraisers.

Hire a professional NYC event photographer who knows and understands the type of photos you are looking for. Great photos show your guests engaged. Great photos make great marketing and advertising content.

Prior photographing the event, I requested a “shot list” from the client detailing the type of images they were looking for and what specifically we should photograph besides the usual. Event photographers are not always tasked with just photographing posed and candid photos of people. Often we are responsible for photographing the room setup, which will be used for future reference, photos of product, and photos of special VIPs with certain guests or board members. As a professional photographer, I know the types of questions to ask before I even arrive.

What makes the best Professional NYC Event Photographer the best is their experience!

Having photographed hundreds of events throughout New York City and beyond, I know what and when I need to photograph. I always arrive early to capture setup photos, as not to get guests / staff in my shots, and to make sure I am ready to go at event start time.

On today’s shoot, I wanted to show off the production team’s attention to detail in the set’s design and the location of the event. I photographed a ton of setup photos and tried as much as possible to feature New York City in each shot. For a photo looking down at the event, I went to the top floor of a nearby building.

Since COVID began in March 2020, the New York event photography business has been pretty quiet or even non-existent at times. Now that the New York Metro area is vaccinated, events of all types and sizes are coming back. We love the responsibility our clients give us in photographing their events and documenting their stories.

Event photographers NYC photograph the 5 “w”s

As a NYC Event Photographer my goal was to photograph the event’s purpose, energy, and its overall story. Event photography has to be capture the 5 “W”’s as we learn in elementary school; Who, What, When, Where, and Why. My event photos were both close ups of peoples reactions and wide room shots showing off the rooms capacity.
